I always knew LEN as LENNY, as did all the other Ted's in Folkestone, Hythe & Dover. He may have wanted to be known as Len, but was called Lenny by everyone, including my mum who baby sat his kids

They might have referred to Len as 'Lenny' amongst themselves but they always addressed him as Len. After all 'Lenny' is rather condescending.

In 1973 Len Elliot wanted to start a authentic rock and roll band. Len played guitar and sang, he asked his cousin James Mulcahy to join him on drums and Eamon Dockery to play piano also Brian Hoyle to play bass. All the members of the band had played together in various other bands. James, Eamon and Brian could also sing to add to the variation of songs. Brian and Len would swap guitars and Brian would sing solo on several songs. Phil Heath joined the band playing C melody sax and later Ralph Thompson joined on Tenor sax. A session musician called John use to play occasionally on Tenor/Baritone sax. The band played around SE England and London, they were a well sort after band. All band members had full time jobs they could play up to 6 nights a week  the most the played was 39 nights out of 41 nights, they played their last performance on October 1976.
