  • Mick Cork - (bass)
  • Bill Regan (drums)
  • Dave Pain (vocals)
  • Pete Hourahane
  • Ian Milton (lead guitar)

Playing Motown and Soul The Mixed Feelings became regulars at both Tofts Club (Grace Hill) and the Leas Cliff Hall, backing Unit Four Plus Two, the Four Pennies, the Yardbirds (with Jimmy Paige) and others.

I have no idea why anyone wants to be Anon, i think we were all in the music business and are a ''band of brothers'' we should be happy that we knew each other and with great fondness too.

Hi Paul, this brings back memories.  I played in a band  early 60 's called The Mystics which morphed into The Mixed Feelings. Ian Milton played Rhythm, Ellis joined later and Pete Hourahane replaced me on lead.  Had a great time. We even played down at Butlins at Bognor  Regis  in a rock competition.  I believe we came 2nd or third. Now 77 and still playing in a thee piece band. Mainly Jazz/blues/folk. In 2014 started Alston Live Music Festival here in Cumbria.

Hi Paul,
I believe the first Folkestone rock group I played with was The Seekers (not the famous group), The lead guitarist was Jeff Ratcliffe,  a printer on the Herald,  rhythm and vocal, Jim Williams, who worked in his dad,s shop up Blackbull Road. On drums was Mick O'Neil also a printer and me on bass. We ran a rock venue  Kent House near the  Metropole.in late fifties.
Was in the same year as Noel Redding and Pete Kircher at the Harvey Grammar  School. We played in school band at one point. Pete lived five doors from me in Cheriton. He was infront of me waiting to see the careers officer at school. He went in wanting to have a career as a professional drummer and came out wanting to be a sign writer!!!!  I went in wanting to be a professional bass guitarist and came out wanting to be an accountant !!!!!  All good memories  Trevor Wright.

Hello Trevor, I am Jim Williams' son and trying to compile a history of The Seekers for an article. I also have recordings of an ep the Seekers made and a solo lp by my Dad - I don't know whether you played on that too? Jeff sadly passed away last year. If you are willing to get in touch it would be great to tie down some loose ends for an article. I haven't been able to track down Martin yet. Kind regards, Vince Williams

I do remember Trevor Wright….I sang in the Trespassers, The Mystics, The Mixed Feelings ( and a couple of gigs with Noel Reddings Lonely ones ) and then joined the End to go professional as Renaissance Faire and made a record with them as The Medium Wave….it all seems such a long time ago now but still meet up with drummer Bill Regan on a regular basis …….David Pain

Trevor Wright.  I certainly remember Dave Paine. Really excellent  vocalist. I vaguely remember  when playing in the Mystics we had a manager called Roger West. Might be wrong Christian name. Bill Regan certainly was a brilliant drummer.  Have kept playing over the decades here in the North. Was with a band called CA9 for eighteen years. Found a YouTube  clip. CA9 PLAYS HENDRIX. Still play jazz, blues, Irish with an amazing fiddle player and percussionist.  As you say a blast from the past. Regards to Bill.

Hello David,  if this is you where are you i been chasing you for years, last time you came to my place at Biddenden and you lived in the Golden Valley. I had an idea you lived in Godstills lane then to Winchester, now i think we will never meet again, i am sad for that, the Laundry days, the village gigs. we blew them away, and that prat Frampton at the Leas Cliff Hall, i think Phil would have done him in had it not been for Spud. Anyway, no more Orpin Bowrons, Lord Charles and the rest. Please be alive and well and drop me a line.
