Serendipity formed in Late 1967 with a line-up of 18-year-old Ian Bellamy on lead vocals (b. Ian Douglas Bellamy, January 1949, England), Billy Lane on lead guitar (b. William Lane), Gordon Shaw on bass, Graham Waller on organ, Pat O'Nion on organ (b. Patrick O'Nion) and Tim Huckstepp on drums (b. Timothy Huckstepp).
The group was first called Abject Blues.
On Friday, October 4, 1968 Serendipity released their first single 'Through With You' (Bill Bartlett) and 'I'm Flying' (Tim Huckstepp, Pat O'Nion) on CBS 3733. It was produced and arranged by Bernard Cochrane (b. Bernard Edgar Cochrane, December 1939).
On Friday, May 16, 1969 Serendipity released their second single 'If I Could' (Gordon Lightfoot) and 'Castles' (Pat O'Nion) on CBS 4228. It was produced by Bernard Cochrane and the A-side was arranged by Roger Day and B-side was arranged by Graham Waller.
In 1969 Serendipity split.
