I used to believe that this particular Ace was a Punk / New Wave independent from the late '70s and early '80s, but the discovery of singles such as Robbie Jo's 'Child Of The Universe' (ACE-010) and Jo-Ann Kerry's 'Silver Cross And Chain' (ACE-015; 1980) led me to delve a bit further. Apparently the label belonged to Ace Recording Studios, of Herne Bay, Kent; and while it was responsible for several Punk and New Wave records they were financed by the bands, the studio being a custom recording concern.
Ace appears to have lasted for long enough to release at least thirty-eight records.
Numbers were in the ACE-000s, LPs and singles sharing the same series; ACE-038 came out in 1982. The discography below lists such Ace records from 1979 and (for the sake of interest) 1980 as I have been able to track down: the items in brackets are LPs.
On some records, at least, the 'A'-side labels were white with red logos; the 'B'-sides reversed that colour scheme.
